The season of joy and happiness always come in the year-end. When we start seeing light decorations and event promotions, signalling the Christmas is around the corner! Every 25th December is a Christian holiday honoring the birth of Jesus, and has now evolved into a worldwide festive celebration.

Catching up the trendy, Yuan Ze University’s Global Affairs Office (GAO) in cooperation with Global Students Association (GSA) have organized an International Christmas Party on the 23rd December 2021 at Royal Palace. This event aimed to encourage the communication between foreign students, by meeting and socializing with new friends from different cultural background in a cheerful setting.

The event started with a short welcoming speech by the GAO Chairman, Prof. Chih-Yang Lin. “We’re very lucky that the Covid-19 situation has been under-controlled. Thanks to our dedicated staff members, we can celebrate this wonderful event together. Let’s enjoy the night, Merry Christmas and happy new year!” he said.

With Christmas carol from the Singing club, attendees enjoyed delicious foods and have casual chats with each other. Then, the party reached its highlight with the group-based “Limbo” game, lucky draws, and free dancing time.

Before ending, attendees have their Christmas present exchanged. “This was an incredible night! I felt so good to relax and have fun at a Christmas ball out of the busy schedule. Thanks very much to both GAO & GSA.” Jessie, a Vietnamese freshman from the College of Management shared her excitement.

國際聖誕節舞會 為年末增添歡樂時光
閃閃發亮的樹燈裝飾和活動促銷悄悄宣告了年末的到來，在疫情趨緩的情況下，我們得以和親朋好友度過幸福的耶誕節和元旦慶典。
為了讓境外生共同慶祝這個重要節日，元智大學全球事務處與元智全球學生聯誼會攜手合作，於2021 年 12 月 23日在花田盛事築夢莊園舉辦了「2021YZU國際學生聖誕派對」。本次活動旨在鼓勵境外生之間的交流，讓來自不同文化背景的同學能在輕鬆的環境中結識新朋友。
派對在元智大學全球事務處主席林智揚教授的簡短歡迎辭中拉開序幕。 他說：“我們很幸運，在Covid-19 受到控制的情況下，我們可以一起慶祝的耶誕節。感謝我們的工作人員辛苦籌備，希望大家盡情享受這個夜晚，也提前祝各位新年快樂！”
作爲學期末的壓軸活動，聖誕舞會除了準備諸多豐盛美食,還誠邀了元智流行音樂錄音社演出動聽的聖誕頌歌。當天晚會的現場熱鬧，氣氛在團體賽制的“Limbo”遊戲、幸運抽獎和自由舞會中達到了高潮。然後在活動結束之前，與會者交換了他們的聖誕禮物。
管理學院的項美清同學表示，偶爾參加慶典活動或者舞會能讓她結交更多國內外的朋友，並增加留學期間的回憶。來自越南的她笑言，“這是一個不可思議的夜晚！我在聖誕舞會上玩得很開心。非常感謝 GAO 和 GSA讓我有機會從繁忙的日程中偷閒放鬆。”
新冠肺炎疫情雖逐漸趨緩，但許多國際生仍無法在這個時候返鄉。年末的聖誕節，對於外籍學生來說，是相當重要的節日，元智大學全球事務處與元智全球學生聯誼會合作，於12月23日在花田盛事築夢莊園舉辦「聖誕愛傳情」舞會，讓元智大學的本國生及境外生暫時卸下忙碌課業，歡慶聖誕。
繼開學以來，元智大學全球事務處因疫情因素，無法舉辦大型活動，許多境外生也因為防疫，無法聚集交流。23日「聖誕愛傳情」聖誕節舞會，共有300餘人參與，雖然在室內交流仍需配合防疫政策戴口罩，但也讓外籍生感受到校方的用心。
元智全球事務處國際長林智揚表示，這次的「聖誕愛傳情」聖誕節舞會為學期末的壓軸活動，讓境外生能夠從繁忙的課業中抽離身心，放鬆享受聖誕舞會。舞會中安排有獎徵答、抽獎、交換禮物、共同跳舞歡慶聖誕等，藉由活動競賽讓學生打破語言與文化的差異，藉由交換禮物互傳心意，在寒冷的冬季收到如同家人的祝福，增進境外生與本國生的交流，透過這個國際的共同節慶，同心交流、彼此祝福，?活動現場增添了許多美好的氣氛，也讓情誼再度升溫。
活動中的共舞時光是舞會的高潮，各國籍學生盡情發揮創意，充分展現元智大學學生的活力與熱情，同時為久居異鄉無法回國的外籍生，帶來聖誕節的歡樂氣氛，送來暖心與祝福。
林智揚說，疫情不能攔阻人與人間的關係，在可以實體見面的時候，彼此道聲祝福，雖然還不能返鄉，但元智大學樂於營造家的氛圍，讓每一位外籍生都能有回家的感覺。活動中也邀請本國生共同參與，透過本國生與外籍生交流，讓境外生無論在課業、生活、學習上都能互相扶持。
